Saint-Omer

Always prefer beers on tap and although I didn’t really know this beer before, it turned out a pleasant surprise.

It’s a blonde beer, and at 5% alcohol, one that you can have several of. And I did…

The brewery, called Brasserie de Saint-Omer is located in the town of Saint-Omer, which is located in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region. It was founded in 1866 and for a long time was a large-scale independent brewery. It was briefly owned by Heineken but is now again an independent brewery. Good story.

I was confused at one point because there is a beer called just Omer but it is a Belgian beer, which I will post about when I get to the Belgian section of this blog.
