Weltenburger Kloster

Claimed to be the oldest Kloster (Monastery) brewery in the world (established in 1050), this is a Hell (lager). Although nothing startling, it’s a pleasant, refreshing beer, light colour, good head, and a good alcohol content (for me anyhow) at 4.9% although the Spezial is slightly higher, at 5.6%.

Brewery is based near Regensburg in Bavaria.

I have had this beer at the Kloster some years ago. I most recently had the draught version in 2022 in Regensberg.
