Peroni Nastro Azzurro

This is advertised as a Pale Lager. Made by the Peroni Brewery which also produces a Peroni beer which is well-known, comes with a red label; I haven’t posted about it yet.

I should mention that, for reasons known only to them, they make something called Peroni Chill Lemon, which is virtually a soft drink (2% alcohol) and, while pleasant enough to drink, doesn’t qualify as a beer in my mind.

Italian brewery (duh) that is now owned by Asahi as is the way of the world.

It’s said to be the best-selling beer in Italy and it’s a damn fine beer but there are others that are as good or better, which I haven’t posted about yet.

5% alcohol, nice for me; light colour, quite good head. Very refreshing, with a slightly bitter after-taste.

I’ve had in bottles many times but also on tap, where it’s significantly better, as always.

Rated it as 6.5/10 in a bottle, 7/10 on tap.

Nastro Azzurro on tap in Arbois, France, September 2021.

Same beer, same place, same time, with your intrepid taster.

Bottled version at home in France, June 2023
