Messina Lager

This is a lesser known Italian brewery, although it is a major one. Based in Sicily, it seems to have had a chequered history that I won’t explain here.

This is a Lager and their signature beer and the only one I’ve tried. I only have had in bottled form but it is readily available on tap in Italy, if not elsewhere.

Reasonably light in alcohol content at 4.7%. Dark honey colour, clear, slightly bitter aftertaste but pleasant and certainly one to try.
